Practical activities of exploratory learning on energy saving in the school environment

Mrs Chrisanthi Tziortzioti from CTI organized a two day workshop on Thursday 22nd and Thursday 23rd November, at the Philadelphia Laboratory Center of Physical Sciences. The training sessions were held on “Practical activities of exploratory learning on energy saving in the school environment”. The workshops were addressed to the teachers of the 5th and 6th grade of the elementary schools of the 1st Attica Region, following the invitation of the School Counselor Aik. Lampropoulou (Prot. No. 240 / 13-11-2017).

The content of the workshops consisted of two parts and included:
Part A: Workshop on participatory activities of acquainting training teachers with a general educational scenario of playful and exploratory learning, based on the use of environmental data and energy consumption data from the school building. Collaborative development of student activities related to:

– use of  lighting
– use of heating
– use of other electrical and electronic devices
– exploiting the particular characteristics of the school building
– construction and programming of simple electronic devices.

Part B: Specialization of the general educational scenario from training teachers to develop specific actions in their own classroom and their own school environment.
Participation was mandatory and 45 teachers attended the workshops.
